My idea for my game is a 3D platformer, where the player relies on their breath for their movement. The setting is in a jungle filled with poisonous gas. In order for the player to traverse the environment and reach their goals, they must hold their breath when inside the gas clouds. This breath, which acts similarly to a stamina bar, will decrease passively over time, but also drain quicker when performing intensive movement actions, such as jumping or dashing. The game will focus on different levels that contain a finish as well as optional collectibles for an extra challenge. The levels will be puzzle-like, with different paths that give decisions for the player to make. One path may only be possible with a riskier playstyle involving draining breath quickly, while another path might involve a more slow and precise playstyle. The collectibles would also be risk and reward based with players choosing to expend some of their breath in order to get the collectible, therefore making the intended paths harder to complete. This game would have a heavy focus on the movement through the interesting jungle environment.
